I have found out the top ten states with highest gas per gallon on a state average list. If anyone has AOL news, they've probably already seen it, if not, here it is:
10. Washington 3.81
9. Indiana 3.81
8. Michigan 3.85
7. West Virginia 3.85
6. Hawaii 3.87
5. Illinois 3.90
4. New York 3.91
3. California 3.94
2. Connecticut 3.96
1. Alaska 3.98
...I live 10 minutes from the Massachuetts, as well as 10 minutes from the Rhode Island border, so this doesn't effect me. But I feel bad for the people around the south west parts of the state where they need to trvale to New York for only a 5 cent discount. (Mass is 3.75)
I'm not sure about anyone else, but for a 14 gallon tank, I'm saving over two dollars every time I jump to Mass for gas. That's a deal.
This is getting outrageous. I think we, as a country, as a general population, should go on strike. Everyones been saying it, but the truth hasn't been this close since right now. Four dollars a gallon?
FOUR DOLLARS FOR A GALLON ON GAS?!!!
Where are we getting this oil? And where is the fucking shortage? I'd really like to know before I start paying four dollars for a gallon on gas. 56.00 to fill my ford taurus? No thank you.
Why is Connecticut so much? As Massachuetts is so little? Why is Texas not even in the top 10 when we don't use our own oil, so no one can say "Well, it is the black gold state." No. That's bogus. All of our gas is imported, so Texas shouldn't be off the hook just yet.
Why since 2000 has the price of gas tripled?
Wait, before I go on, I think we all know the answer.
What ever happened to the 1970s oil crisis where all these rules were changed about the price of gas in a tank couldn't be changed until a new delivery? Gas is being changed four times a DAY!!! Let alone twice a week!
Did that contract get pissed on and lost somewhere between then and now?
I'm really starting to be a concern for this. It's crippling the middle class, let alone the lower class. Especially since I live in Connecticut! Car companies can not keep up. There are not enough hybryds out there. I saw a study that said the prices of cars is plummeting because they can't sell them. Mom and Pop stores are closing because the average coffee, smokes, and tak of gas customers just aren't coming in anymore.
SO anything related to this growing, and absurd has price change, will effect more than just the people putting the gas in their cars. It's effecting businesses of all sorts.
What if the general population all said "Okay, we're all taking a sick day. sall of us. We all have one sick day, and we're going to use it today. None of us are going to use gas today lets see how much the big oil companies lose in one day
Is that so far fetched?
Because they would lose billions of dollars in one day.
