I've been thinking about this lately..

I'm frankly bored with the IWF right now. It feels like we're running in circles, and no better than WWE programming. Which means I don't like it.

It's not bash against Don (AT ALL), and it's finally his first real run with the title, but I don't get it. I'm not drawn in with excitement about anything in the shows. I'm not interested in the TV Title feud. I'm not really interested in Jone Gone or Yeh Ren. Maybe it's the lack of general caring about what we're all doing right now. No one really seems to be pushing each other to the limit. And this really draws my concern.

We've slipped back into quantity winning over quality, which disappoints me because that was one of the main drawing points of the BWA era. Originality and quality over repetitiveness and quantity of the same ol' stuff.

I'm not throwing this is anyones face in particular, because I have been known to dig in the past and run my characters in circles a lot, but I don't think I've been interested in any long standing feud since reading Sheldon Reese. Brian was always on top of things, always putting out new stuff. New asshole lines. New asshole actions. What he could do in a handful of RPs could probably beat anyone here, right now. There was just something special about his work. It wasn't too long, it just felt..right. His feud with Croc over Title vs Career, was amazing. The two of them really had us (myself anyway) at an end all. I knew Andy was leaving soon to go to academy. I didn't know Brian was leaving. It was just perfectly played out. The RPs, the results shows, everything.

I just don't feel that anymore.

There have been several feuds and characters that I can go into, but, don't feel like it right now. I will if people want examples, or a pat on the back because it's more than Brian I won't lie. But the past isn't my point.

I want to know what we can do about the future. How we can get some interest from people.

Have we really done it all, where no matter what we think of, it's just the same stuff with new people and new places? It's the same idea with WWE right now. We all want them to go back to the Attitude era when things were fresh and edgy, so they bring back and DX vs Vince and we're sick of them in two months.

I really think all of us really need to look deep down, and brain storm about some storylines and ideas. Not just the bookers. I really miss the way things used to be and the people that used to be here, but there's no reason we can't go back to that with some effort and care.

We've done tournaments, we've done battle royals, we've done the new stars with the titles, and the old guys finally getting their runs and shots. Last year we bring in Holtz who wins the British and World Titles, then leaves.

I would really like to see a Chris Holtz return, and not a John Gone debut and build-up. Same with Wifebeater. He gets the British and World, and leaves. We need to get some established guys in here. Both those guys were almost there (Two titles dont establish you in my eyes. Years and years of running a character without fault do) and you just dropped them? I didn't get it. I know WB isn't doing so good OOC, and I hope him the best, but I hope when you make a come back you bring back Wifebeater and not a new character because I'm frankly getting sick of them.

Again, I'm not perfect. I go through characters like clockwork and people can criticize me all you want. But my characters still have history (Chris James five years of history with some guys, three with all the BWA guard) Seven has been around for two. So as much as I switch, I still have that history there.

So everyones next thought is going to be, "So you want new and fresh ideas, but not fresh characters?"..Exactly. There's no reason The Rock couldn't come back and start a feud with a young gun. But to think Lance Cade could do the same I have my doubts. Just look at Jericho and HBK for an example of two veterans with a lengthy history kicking into a new, entertaining gear.

I was liking Dylan's stuff, and I know you said it was going to be spaced out but, in /b/ honor, MOARPLZ.

Maybe people want to create new characters and run with them, but, I'm disinterested in trying to get into all these new characters all at once. It's making me very frustrated. I find it difficult to understand how all these new characters are coming in and getting title runs and don't even have any history. I feel like we're a brand new federation, with five years of history. How does that work?

MJW, Donzig, Croc, and AJ? Only BWA guard left? No one from the CWA/BWA merger? (As I'm running Seven and Holtz and Beater are inactive)

If I'm forgetting anyone, sorry, but I don't think I am.

This was not meant to attack anyone, merely motivate. I would like to see some ideas thrown around either here publicly, or in PMs, or IMs. Really.

I would like something new and refreshing. And fast. And I KNOW I'm not the only one who feels this way..

That's why I'm doing the arc with Seven. I find it new and edgy. He's been straight edge and a censor for two years, and now he's going back on it all, and still trying to justify himself.

As soon as I get shit situated I will be back as Wife Beater. I don't like making new characters so he will always be my main guy until I decide to retire him or whatever. Right now I am juggling a lot that is why I am not really RPing here. Something is brewing though that will be revealed in the coming month or two so stay tuned.

RPing only gives you what you put into it. If you put a lot into it, you get a lot out even if it is only your own personal joy in what you have created. If you just sit around and wait for everyone else to make things better, you won't get much.

I have fun doing it, and that is what matters most. Before facing CJ this week, I hadn't had a lot of competition due to my storyline, but I did what I could. I gutted it out, slipped back a bit, but worked to give myself an idea that I could have fun writing (and I have it with my current work this week).

I just miss how it was when I first came. Everyone got along for the most part, things were awesome OOCly and also ICly and everyone roleplayed and it was exciting. But then people started to have problems OOC and that was a downfall.

If I came up with a reason for Holtz coming back that I thought was really good then I would do it. But I like the John Gone character and where the Gone/Yeh Ren feud is going, so that's what I'm sticking with.

regards John Gone Vs Yeh Ren, this is new and needs time to evolve. If we were like the WWE we would bin this after a week if it looked slow, but we are not like the WWE and it will be given the time it needs. If it fails in the end then so be it, but i think it has legs.

regards Donzig and the World title, im not saying anything but believe me we have already talked about this and there are plans in place to make everything liven up.


my only moan would be that we have a lot of OOC going on, with some people posting huge amounts. I reckon if they could try and put that effort into RPing we might see some exciting stuff.

OOC is good, but it doesnt make an efed.

I'd like to add, I think I know what is driving me crazy, when I look back to the "old days".

It's the lack of extra stuff. It was more than just RPing. We has Fact or Fiction (RUN BY AJ! LOL..Don's are still good though). We had power rankings, tv ratings, PPV buys, and records (done by Brian, which I wouldn't mind doing myself if given the green light to put the energy into), Fan Forum, BWA/CWA Online,..PPV Reviews,..Magazines. As well am I sure there were more little things I'm not thinking of right now. Even Survivor, which was an OOC game, was a fun additive.

We used to have so much *extra* stuff. It seems everyone is struggling putting up RP material that we've lost all this as well.

The Fan Forum is used sparingly, the CWA Online isn't uses at all... even those things I miss and we still attempt to use them. It was a big part of my enjoyment and fun of being a part of this place.

To me these things, unlike a recycled storyline, can never get old.

Any thoughts on those?

The drop in a lot of that stuff coincides with me being busier than in my college days. I don't read all the RPs like I used to, so a momentum chart is hard (and wouldn't be much right now). I suppose since I didn't take the initiative, we won't have MVPs again. A majority of posts in the fan forum were mine, which I used to try to drum up interest for other people (though I may read the RPs of others more, if they were hyped up and talked about in said forum). Records would be cool to do. I haven't done title histories with this place, either. I miss FoF, too.

I helped create and maintain a lot of that stuff, but I haven't been able to now. I'm just trying to work with the basics and keep my RPs going (when I finish the final chapter today, I plan to group it together and solicit feedback).
