☼The scene starts with Yeh Ren sitting at a bar. His mask is different in that there’s a hole over the mouth. He uses this mouth hole to drink a white Russian. Kagrra is sitting to his left with a half-empty fruity looking drink. Yeh Ren downs the rest of his drink and motions to the bartender for another☼
Yeh Ren: It was barely even a real match. He just got in his shots and cut a promo on a guy that wasn’t even in the match.
Bartender: Sounds like you’re having a rough week. Maybe take a break from the shots to the head, huh?
☼He sets another white Russian in front of Yeh Ren☼
Yeh Ren: Wouldn’t that be nice.
Kagrra: Sorry I couldn’t help. Again.
Yeh Ren: No apology necessary. It wasn’t a bad beating. I was at half strength thanks to Gone and I still wasn’t down for long. You’d think someone that big in the promotion would hit harder than that.
☼He shrugs and takes a drink☼
Yeh Ren: At least I know I’ll be able to take him if we ever have a square match. If that’s…
☼His voice trails off as the air at the bar goes ice cold. John Gone walks up to the bar and takes a seat at Kagrra’s left. Yeh Ren stares straight ahead and grips his glass in his hand, almost shaking with anger, looking like he might explode☼
Gone: Hello, Yeh Ren. Kagrra.
☼The glass breaks in Yeh Ren’s hand. The bartender groans and heads over to clean up the mess as Yeh Ren picks a piece of glass out of his hand☼
Gone: Squeezing that glass a bit hard, weren’t you?
☼Gone knocks on the bar☼
Gone: Tom Collins, orange.
☼Kagrra has her head tilted straight down and her eyes shut tight. She puts a hand on Yeh Ren’s knee☼
Kagrra: ☼Quietly☼ Don’t…don’t…
☼Yeh Ren fidgets at his seat, adjusting his mask, visibly trying to keep his composure. The bartender puts Gone’s drink in front of him and quickly puts some distance between the three of them and himself.☼
Yeh Ren: You don’t…strike me as the Tom Collins type.
Gone: Sorry to hear that.
☼He takes a drink and turns to Kagrra☼
Gone: How’s your drink?
☼Kagrra stammers and looks down, then to Yeh Ren, then back down☼
Kagrra: Um….good.
☼Gone smirks☼
Gone: How’s the hand?
☼Yeh Ren almost makes a move at Gone but Kagrra keeps him down☼
Kagrra: Please don’t…
☼Gone smiles and goes back to his drink as Yeh Ren begrudgingly sits down, getting angrier by the minute☼
Gone: It’s good, Kagrra, that you’re keeping him sedate. Starting a fight would do him no good.
☼Kagrra sits mutely staring forward, hands folded in her lap. She hasn’t looked at Gone since he sat down☼
Gone: I mean he’s, uh…he’s taken a lot of damage over the past few days. I saw how he was holding that glass, I’m surprised he had enough strength in that arm to break it. And don’t think I didn’t notice that rasp in his voice. And that beating he took on Monday. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
Yeh Ren: What’s your point, John?
☼Almost as if he’s ignoring Yeh Ren, Gone stares disappointedly at a book of matches in his hand☼
Gone: There’s no smoking in here.
☼He sighs. Yeh Ren repeats his question more angrily☼
Yeh Ren: What is your point, John?
Gone: Oh. Yeh Ren. My point is that taking a day or two off from getting pounded on would only do you good. I mean a person can only take so much…
Yeh Ren: I’m fine.
Gone: I wasn’t talking about you. What about you, Kagrra? Yeh Ren may run headlong into his beatings with wide-eyed abandon, but this can’t be any fun for you. Innocent young thing like you, dating a guy with such a violent profession.
Yeh Ren: Leave it alone, John.
Gone: How many times already have you cried over him? More than once in the past couple of days, yes?
Yeh Ren: Leave it alone…
☼Gone lets out a little grin and leans slightly in toward Kagrra. She shuts her eyes tightly and recoils☼
Gone: How many times have you cried for him in secret? He may not notice, or he may not say anything, but you do, don’t you?
☼He motions to his eyes☼
Gone: Your eyes are red. I saw you go to the bathroom a couple of minutes ago. You were crying then, weren’t you? How many times do you think you’re going to cry over him? He may not care about his wellbeing, but you care more than enough for the both of you.
☼Gone cocks his head☼
Gone: Does he care about that?
☼Yeh Ren clenches his fist tightly, to the point where blood flows from where the glass stuck into his hand, dripping onto the bar☼
Gone: How many times are you going to cry for him before you do it one time too many? He can take a lot. But how much more can YOU take?
☼Yeh Ren pounds his fist on the bar. Kagrra jumps a bit. Gone casually sits up☼
Yeh Ren: Bartender.
☼The bartender apprehensively heads to the trio and stands in front of Yeh Ren☼
Bartender: Can I getcha something?
Yeh Ren: Shot of everclear.
Bartender: Sure thing, mate. What do you want it mixed with?
Yeh Ren: Nothing.
Bartender: You sure, man?
Yeh Ren: Yeah.
☼Gone follows the bartender with his eyes as he fills a shot glass full of everclear. He turns to Yeh Ren☼
Gone: You don’t strike me as the everclear type.
Yeh Ren: Got a light?
☼Gone cocks his head and smirks. He slides his book of matches over to Yeh Ren. He picks it up as the bartender sets the glass down in front of him. His eyes dart from Yeh Ren to Gone and back before heading back over to another part of the bar. Yeh Ren strikes a match and lights the shot. He stares into the fire for a second. Then, in one fluid motion, he sweeps Kagrra off of her bar stool with his left arm and smashes the glass top-first into Gone’s mouth. Gone topples backwards off of his seat and onto the floor. The burning alcohol spreads over the bottom half of his face as he crosses his arms over his mouth to put the fire out. Other bar patrons scream and scramble away from the two. Yeh Ren picks up the book of matches and lights another. He flicks it at Gone’s extinguished face, reigniting it. As Gone puts out the second fire, Yeh Ren kicks him in the side of the head.☼
Yeh Ren: You son of a bitch! So how much can YOU take, huh?!
☼He grabs a bar stool and jabs Gone in the back of the head with the stool legs. Kagrra runs up behind Yeh Ren and grabs him in an effort to get him to stop. Yeh Ren spins around prepared to react, but stops dead when he sees it’s Kagrra. They embrace as Yeh Ren turns back to face Gone. Gone is conscious but hasn’t gotten up. His face is singed and bleeding around the mouth. He goes to continue the assault, but Kagrra holds him☼
Kagrra: Stop. Can we just leave?
☼Yeh Ren goes to argue but stops.☼
Yeh Ren: Alright.
☼They pass by Gone, Yeh Ren stepping over him, on their way out of the bar. The bartender opens his mouth to say something to them☼
Yeh Ren: He’s taking care of our tab.
☼Without a glance back, the two exit the bar☼
