I really liked working on this arc, and it's a mixed blessing that it only lasted one week. On one hand, it kept it fresh rather than letting it drift to the background and simmer as it would over the course of a month. On the other hand, I'm sure I'll get more ideas as I reflect on it. I also regret not having enough time to really sell Whitey's change. I've organized them for you.
May 1962 meet June 2008
The Incredible Whitey
3:10 to the Empire of Equilibrium
What Would Thomas Jane Do?
Jake Seven...FUNISHED!
With the exception of the final chapter, every title had significance, and I researched a bit to create them. With some thought, you should be able to see where I was going. I've also officially made the Funisher another part of AJ instead of something he does in his free time. He's become a superhero at long last.
I combined three comic book characters in this. Two comprise the Funisher, and it has been obvious since his creation. The third came from the final line of "May 1962 meet June 2008." I've always thought of that line for Whitey, laughed at it, but never had a chance to use it until CJ's change of Seven. From there, I was bombarded with ideas. The final chapter I thought about weeks ago when CJ proposed that he wanted a Funisher/Jaker war, which would have been fun, but we lost time, and this arc became #1 on my to do list. I thought of making the final chapter serious, but given the characters and the story, I found it unlikely. I got my seriousness out in chapters 2-4, with chapter 4 (WWTJD?) have a special place in my heart because there was a lot of passion in it (even if it was over something ridiculous).
I'd love feedback as I greatly enjoyed writing this, but I'm also aware that I'm probably the one who received the greatest enjoyment from this. Still, I'd love to hear your thoughts either way. It's not traditional wrestling, but when do I ever focus on that? We all have side aspects of our characters that can dominate their personalities.
