So, I saw it today. WOW! It was fuckin amazing. The graphics, the story the acting.....phenominal!
Thug: "I supposed you were instructed to kill me after we got the money"
THug 2 (joker): No no, I'm going to kill the bus driver.
Thug: "What Bus Driver..."
*Thug (joker) moves aside as a bus backs through the building, hitting the 1st thug. Joker then kills the bus driver*
HAHAHAHA AWESOME!
And the dissappearing Pencil? Fan-fucking-tastic. I loved when he was dressed as the nurse, dancing along in the dress as the hospital is blowing up! ROFLMAO He did amazing. I loved how he didn't really have a plan but to kill The Batman. But, he planned a few things. Like being put in Jail with Lui to get the money. And his plan to have the ships blow up each other. His acting was supurb. He timed everything beautifully and I'd say he was a much better Joker than Jack. However, if not for Jack Nicholson, batman would have never made it past the first one.
Batman seemed a little evil this time. I know he was supposed to be torn between a a good guy and a down right vigilante. But, he seemed super evil when he was dressed as batman.
Aaron Eckhart did GREAT as Harvey Dent. But, they killed him and now what? He won't be in the next one?! That sucks! His make-up was great, his attitude/acting was fantastic. He did great foreshadowing his heel turn.
Maggie Gyllenhall isn't even that hot.
And I hope, since the "Batmobile" self-destructed, they will have the creation of the REAL Batmobile in the next one.
I think they will use The Scarecrow next time.
And I HATE how they made Batman out to be a bad guy in the end. Sure, he breaks rules to save the city but, shit...he doesn't need hunted down like a criminal...and that's sadly where it left off.
Totally in my top 10 movies of all time. Maybe not in the top 5 but defiantley in the top 10 FOREVER.
The movie was very cerebral! It had depth and a great story to think about.
To Heath! God Rest his Soul!

I don't think Two-Face died. I thought I could see his chest heaving as he laid next to Batman.
I don't have a problem with the new Batmobile. They actually explained how Batman gets his gear, and it's from Wayne Enterprises military R&D sector. Why would the military want something that looks like a limo?
It ties into the comics that the cops are after Batman. Gordon's really the only one who trusts him. I thought they brought in the Bat Signal too soon, anyway (even though Gordon made it vs. the city making it).
More Scarecrow would rock. Bane could be good, too (if done right this time, not the Batman and Robin Bane). The Riddler might not be dark enough for this series (and this franchise must stay dark after The Dark Knight). Same with the Penguin, Mr. Freeze and the Mad Hatter. Another Joker movie is out because Heath has made this his own, and I don't think anyone would accept a new Joker (and no actor would want to face the onslaught of taking the role). Two-Face certainly merits another showing. Catwoman...NO! Clayface and Killer Croc are too unrealistic. Deadshot might be too obscure. Poison Ivy wouldn't seem right. Scarface would be interesting, but I don't think he'd translate well enough (even though his insane story would fit, no one would take him seriously).
The movie bombarded me, and I need to view it again to get my wits back (and will do so Wednesday. Beater's going again tonight...on my tab.). It's so powerful and dark that I really felt helpless and lost like the citizens of Gotham and Batman. How do you predict and/or stop a complete madman with no true goal other than complete chaos?
Glad you loved it, Bill. I honestly feared you'd hate it and trash it. When everyone starts liking something, I always get that feeling you'll show up and try to Internet bitch slap us.

Im seeing it again tomorrow Did Two Face seem a little..stale to anyone? I was anticipating this big badass Harvey, and the only thing he did was avenge the people that killed Rachel. The coin was awesome though. "Youre a lucky man today." ::flip:: "He's not so lucky.." "Who?" "Your driver" I thought him flipping to get a desired result was something they criticized in Forever? Unless its justified by saying his desired result was to kill Maroni, and he did so, even if the coin told him he couldn't. That's how I took it. The almost killing the little boy was downright evil, but, the psychology behind it was fantastic. I got goosebumps when he said "Tell your little boy its going to be okay. Lie to him." And Gordon stopped, stared, and told him it was going to be okay was chilling. And how he got the name 'Two-Face' was cheesey as hell. Apparently he already had that nickname and wasn't brought because he had two faces and all. I thought that was weak. And, yes his chest was beating when Gordon and Batman were standing there before Batman turned to Dents face. I saw that too so you're not crazy AJ.

The pencil trick was great, but I want to mention a bit that has gotten less attention; Batman dropping the mobster.
"This height, the fall won't kill me."
"I'm counting on it."
*drop, legs break*
Fantastic stuff. THAT is how Batman should act when pissed off.
And the Joker's backstory was exactly the way I hoped it would be. Multiple choice, straight out of The Killing Joke.

I saw it again and the only thing I feel like adding right now is that Harvey's chest was NOT moving in the final scene.
I don't think he's dead though

Yes, Holtz, that was a great scene. Just because Batman won't kill you doesn't mean he'll play nice.
FUCK! I hate waiting until Wednesday to see it again!

AJ I wanna thank you for helping me out to see it again. It helped me get out of the house and clear my mind and boy did it deliver on so many levels.
Favorite moments:
Hospital scene between Joker and Two-Face.
The Pencil Disappearing Act.
"The Fall from here won't kill me."
The 18-Wheeler Flip/Batpod 360 off the wall.
The first time Joker tells the story about his scars.
Those are just to name a few right now.

"Never start with the head, it makes things all fuzzy and you can't feel the next..."
*Batman slams his fist on Joker's hand*
"See?!"
roflmao HAHAHAHAHAHA

Jim Gordon "dying," then returning to waylay the Joker was tight. I was thinking "they didn't really kill him off, did they?"
It seems to get lost in the shuffle, but Batman really struggled with the choices he had to make. He flip-flopped on quitting, wasn't sure on Rachel, and didn't know what to do with the Joker (even Alfred's solution to the man stealing the gems was "we burned down the forest"). Bale showed appropriate angst and frustration. He stayed true to himself, but he wavered a lot and almost lost his way.
I know it would have meant waiting longer, but The Dark Knight should have been the 3rd movie in Nolan's series. The next Batman movie won't top TDK simply because no villain is as good as the Joker.

Yeah, Bale did awesome in his role. They played all the right cards with him. I enjoyed the whole "Not what Gotham needs" angle.
Should be good to see the next one

Question is, what happens now? As AJ pointed out,..there's not a lot of opinions for villains. The only viable one I can think of, is Riddler.
But do we want another Two-Face/Riddler core? That may draw some negative feedback right away. And if they don't return Two-Face, then he gets the Venom treatment? I hope Nolan doesn't make that choice either.
I don't see how they can justify Joker being in Arkham in the third, without doing something either. The character needs to be involved in some form or fashion, even if not on screen. Because let's face it, no prison can hold Joker. Tis a comic fact. I know no one was planning on Ledger dying, but the line "You can't kill me because of some twisted moral obligation, and I won't kill you because you're just too much fun. I have a feeling we're going to be doing battle for a long time" leads me to believe that the intention was for Joker to be in the third one as well.

After some thought, I do like the possibility of Catwoman as a possible viable villain.
With Rachel dead, Bruce Wayne is looking for love. With Joker gone, Batman needs a villain. Catwoman fits both bills. And what a better way for Batman to question himself and his role, than to fall in love with a villain? And as long as Halle Berry doesn't play Catwoman, I actually have some hope for that arc. After all, the mob "killed her". So that could be used as well.
